Our Story
Salt and Crumb Co. was born from a love of baking and the simple joy of sharing something made by hand. What began in a small Florida kitchen has grown into a space where tradition and creativity come together, where each bake tells a story of care, warmth, and connection.
Our specialty is the Argentinian alfajor, soft delicate cookies filled with creamy dulce de leche, along with an ever evolving selection of sweet treats like brownies and tarts.

About the Founder
Hi, my name is Marcela, and I am the face behind Salt and Crumb Co.
I am originally from Argentina, a lifelong fan of dulce de leche, and a self-taught alfajor maker. Growing up, baking was always part of my world. My mom made cakes for birthdays and special occasions, and her kitchen was always filled with decorated cakes and comforting homemade food. Alfajores were my school snack, and desserts like banana con dulce de leche or panqueques con dulce de leche were a constant in our home. Sometimes a simple spoonful of dulce de leche was more than enough.
Before Salt and Crumb Co. existed, there were other jobs, other plans, and no intention of starting a bakery. But the more I baked, the more I realized how much I missed the everyday flavors from home, and that my kids had never even had an alfajor. That longing, mixed with love and curiosity, is what eventually led to Salt and Crumb Co.
What began in July 2025 came with plenty of trial and error: burnt cookies, slow markets, menu changes, and countless recipe tests, along with so much encouragement from family and friends. Along the way it became clear that this was about more than just alfajores. It is about honoring where I come from, sharing something homemade, and creating small moments of joy around the table.
That love for simple, well made desserts continues to guide how I bake today. At Salt and Crumb Co., I take pride in using high quality ingredients free from additives and dyes so you can enjoy something sweet made with care.
